As I open up the August 16, 2010 issue of TIME Magazine I flip to the Briefing page. New York and its planned mosque near Ground Zero. There’s a sign being held up “¡No más! No mosque!”. I thought to myself, are really that ignorant to other religions as Americans now? I mean sure there are Spanish-speaking Muslims around the world, but really, did that phrase have to be used? That sign tied in two things that a quintessential American dislikes nowadays- Mexicans and Muslims. It irks me to the closed-mindedness of the American society.
Then there was this other sign that referred to the Koran 3.151, “Soon shall we [Allah] cast terror into the hearts of who disbelieve”, though the actual verse is, “We will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve, because they set up with Allah that for which He has sent down no authority, and their abode is the fire, and evil is the abode of the unjust.” Of course someone so strongly against Islam would quote that. What people forget that those who take the Koran literally, word for word, are fundamentalist, extremist Islamists. Not your everyday Muslim who goes about doing peaceful things each and everyday.
Anyone remember the Crusaders? Right, no one wants to talk about it because we killed people who didn’t believe in the Bible.
If America continues on the path of accepting only Christianity and Judaism, we might as well call the nation The ___ Republic of America.

Many things in life that we buy and collect often wind up in the garage, some corner in our closet, hideen in drawers and what not. As the latest and great comes up we often forget the things we once had.
These objects often “store” memories when it was once used or prominently displayed. They are a time capsule into at-time hobbies, lifestyle, or personality. Once unearthed, they allow a person to recall all their memories associated with the object and remember a piece of their earlier life.
For example, my Dad unearthed a model of Sully from Pixar’s, Monster’s Inc., from the closet a couple of days. I must have gotten that from a McDonald’s happy meal or something. Anyhow, it provided some insight to my early life as a kid and not a young teen I am now. Those days were careless and I could be continously bored. Nowadays, it’s hard to be bored with all the things I must do–even in the summer.

Another instance for me is when we had to get rid of an old bike. It was a blue Mythos that I had probably recieved when I was six or seven. I can vividly remember riding it around the park we used to live by in the park and how often my brother and I buzz by the elders when we went around the pond. As I took it for its last spin, it felt small and insignificant compared to the current bike I have. I feel remotely old after riding on the little bike.
So go digging in your garage or closet or what not, it may bring back memories, however good or bad they maybe.

"But Nickelodeon has declined to comment on her background, and her place of birth and citizenship have never been made clear."
Only the BBC would inquire about such a stupid question of a cartoon character -.-
